Babrakzai -

A former Afghan Supreme Court Justice (2006–2013) who was a proponent of modernizing the legal system through the use of DNA and fingerprint evidence. He is also known as a former mujahideen commander in the Khost Province.

Following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, the Babrakzai family—Raees Khan, his wife Fahima, and their five children—fled to Pakistan before eventually resettling in Austin in 2023.
