The character designs for Darl and his revamped crew are genuinely unsettling. They’ve moved away from simple jump scares, opting instead for psychological cues—distant scratching sounds and flickering monitors that keep you in a state of constant paranoia. The game does suffer from a slight difficulty spike around Night 3 that might frustrate newcomers, and some of the lore remains a bit cryptic for those who didn't play the original.
