After a night of drunken birthday celebrations, wakes up in the street next to a dead body. He has no memory of the previous night and is swiftly arrested and sentenced to death. Before his execution, he is rescued by his childhood friend Charon and taken to the Court of Miracles , a lawless slum where Porthos grew up.

While Porthos reconnects with his past and former flame , the other Musketeers investigate the murder. They discover the victim, Jean de Mauvoisin , was actually murdered by his own father, Emile , who is conspiring with Charon to blow up the Court of Miracles for financial gain.
